Developmental strategy study commissioned 2006 by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council NY.

Proposed was the 172 acre island in the New York Upper Bay as a ‘Kurort’, german for retreat - ‘healing place’. Inspired by alpine cow pastures, the island would transform into a hilly environ- ment of parks, ’slow’ food and sustainable farming with the

'mountainous' Manhattan

skyline as backdrop.
